Anchored 4 Life
Anderson-Crawford Elementary School
Anchored 4 Life (A4L) is a group of eight Team Leaders who are 4th and 5th graders at Anderson-Crawford (ACES) and two adult advisors. A4L provides opportunities for Team Leaders to enhance social skills, learn leadership skills, build character, improve self-esteem, and integrate into their community. Team Leaders at ACES hand out premade kits to students who have parents going on or returning from a deployment. Team Leaders also do at least one service project throughout the school year; examples of service projects that have been completed are: putting together food bags for families in need, hosting "Fruit with Families" during Purple Up month, and sponsoring a winter clothing drive. Team Leaders also teach life skills to students in the school through school wide assemblies, both live and recorded.
Fruit with Family:
Families were invited to join their students at school prior to the school day to each fruit. Done during Purple Up month to recognize military children and their
A4L Activity groups: Activity groups can be done in small groups, one on one, or in large groups. Our Team Leaders have chosen to present their activity groups in the large group setting at school wide assemblies. Activity groups cover a wide range of topics including: Bullying (Kindness), Fear, Reintegration, Homework, Healthy Body, and Deployment. Our school has done both live presentations and pre recorded videos.
